What’s Going To Happen
Middle Tennessee is still in the Conference USA East race … sort of.
It was able to beat Marshall in early October, and it still gets its shot at WKU. It’s an uphill climb, and for now, merely getting bowl eligible would be enough.
The Blue Raiders have to win their last three games with Old Dominion and at WKU to close. Seeing it all go up in smoke against the winless Owls would be brutal.
Rice is feisty and competitive, but it doesn’t score. It only managed more than 20 points twice, have scored 13 points total in the last two games, and it doesn’t have anything to consistently rely on.
Middle Tennessee’s defense has been the issue, and the inconsistent offense isn’t going to be much of a problem.
The Blue Raider ground game will be just enough to get by a low-scoring, ugly game with a whole slew of stalled drives.
