The season might be over for the Ohio State men’s volleyball team, but the recognition isn’t. Despite things ending cold-turkey in the middle of the 2020 campaign because of COVID-19, the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) still recognized some All-Conference performers.
And in the case of OSU, they have three players included. Reese Devilbiss and Martin Lallemand were named to the All-MIVA First Team, while Samuel Clark garnered Second Team distinction.
For the Ohio State program, the inclusion continues a pretty remarkable trend. It’s the sixth-straight season the program has had first-teamer accolades, and brings the total to 25 players recognized on the First-Team since 2010. In fact, you have to go all the way back to 1997 to find a season in which the Buckeyes didn’t have at least one player selected First-Team All-MIVA.

According to a release from the fine folks in the Ohio State athletic department, Devilbiss and Lallemand both ranked top-10 in multiple statistical categories among MIVA competitors while Samuel Clark did so for blocks per set (.89; 7th). Devilbiss averaged 3.22 kills/set (7th), 3.68 points/set (8th) while attacking .309 (7th). Lallemand swung .301 (8th) with 3.32 kills/set (5th), .27 aces/set (8th) and 3.97 points/set (5th). All started 18 matches and Clark finished as the only Buckeye to play in all 19.
Congrats to these three, and Go Bucks!
