Watch: What did Tua Tagovailoa do after his NFL debut?

Tua Tagovailoa soaked it all in after his NFL debut … in full uniform on an empty field.

Tua Tagovailoa is a thoughtful person. After his NFL debut Sunday for the Miami Dolphins in a 24-0 victory over the New York Jets, the first-round pick decided to soak in the circumstances.

On the field … in full uniform … to appreciate how far he has come since being injured in his final year at Alabama.

Tagovailoa went 2-for-2 for 9 yards and became the first left-handed quarterback to complete a pass since Kellen Moore for the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17 of the 2015 season.

“Yeah, I definitely could hear it. There’s nothing else playing in the stadium, so I could hear that,” Tagovailoa said. “And that was awesome. But to just be out there with my teammates being my first time and getting the support and love from them, I think that was super awesome. And then you have a 16-year vet like Fitz, who has animosity toward it as well, who’s just been supportive that entire time. Good drive, bad drive, he comes to the sideline and just talks through his process with why he did some things. I’m very fortunate to have a mentor like him who is just very encouraging on the field and then this guy is like he’s just very personable off the field as well.”

Ryan Fitzpatrick was happy for the backup QB, who is the future in Miami.

“That was just a cool moment for him, just the reception from the crowd that was here and us on the sideline,” the Harvard grad said about the Alabama star.

Tagovailoa said he Face-Timed with his parents who follow his career closely but could not be at the game due to everything that the COVID-19 pandemic has entailed.

“The biggest thing that really stands out to me is just being able to make my parents proud,” Tagovailoa said. “Whether that’s Tua as a football player, Tua as a person, Tua as a son, I think that’s what brings me the most joy is seeing how happy my parents get and then seeing how happy my family gets as well with who I am and also what I do.”

Watch: Tua Tagovailoa makes NFL debut for Miami Dolphins

Tua Tagovailoa was 2-for-2 in his NFL debut.

If there were a perfect foe to face in your NFL debut, it would be the New York Jets with a 24-0 lead in the fourth quarter of a game.

Welcome to Tua Time in Miami, also known as garbage time on this Sunday.

The rookie QB from Alabama took the field late in the game, replacing Ryan Fitzpatrick in the Dolphins’ laugher against their feeble foe.

Tagovailoa was 2-for-2 for 9 yards in his mop-up appearance.

He learned well from Ryan Fitzpatrick, it seems.

Watch: Jets’ Joe Flacco takes 28-yard sack

A 28-yard sack sums up the Jets’ season.

When you think things can’t get any worse, they can. Ask the winless and hapless New York Jets.

To the astonishment of anyone and everyone who has watched the NFL in any season, enjoy Joe Flacco as he drops back, back, back, back, back … and takes a 28-yard sack.

Honestly, one would think Flacco at his age wouldn’t have the speed to get 28 yards before being tackled.

Remember, Gang Green is a disease. The Jets are sad sacks.

How bad and inept have Adam Gase teams been?

Watch: Marcus Maye of the Jets with the …. butt-pick

Marcus Maye of the Jets with the interception that will be known as the butt pick.

There isn’t much the Jets can savor about 2020 or put on a highlight video. So they might just want to put this one on a loop.

Watch as Marcus Maye comes up with the butt-pick. There is nothing else that needs to be explained.

Of course that takes us back to one Thanksgiving and Mark Sanchez against the New England Patriots: Butt fumble!

Le’Veon Bell signing with Kansas City Chiefs

Running back Le’Veon Bell is signing with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Talk about going from the outhouse to the penthouse.

That’s what Le’Veon Bell has maneuvered himself into doing. The turbulent running back, who was cut by the New York Jets this week is going to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs, per NFL.com.

The running back who has run out his welcome with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets now moves on to the Super Bowl champs, who are 4-1. The Jets, meanwhile, are 0-5 and seem headed for a battle for the first pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

And this would make it official:

In Kansas City, Bell joins Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes,  Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and first-round pick RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, on an explosive offense.

From the timing is everything dept., Bell would face his former team on Nov. 1 when Gang Green travels to Kansas City. That should be plenty of fun.

Edwards-Helaire, a rookie from LSU, leads Kansas City in rushing with 344 yards. He had 81 carries. After that, Mahomes is second on the Chiefs with 24 carries and 129 yards.

The Chiefs rank 13th in the NFL in rushing as a team.

Bell played in 17 games as a Jet. In two games this season, he has 74 rushing yards.

New York Jets release Le’Veon Bell and RB seems fine with it

Le’Veon Bell has worn out his welcome with a second team, this time being cut by the Jets.

The New York Jets have released controversial running back Le’Veon Bell.

The one-time Pittsburgh Steelers star had been immersed in controversy with the team and never seemed happy with Gang Green. It came to a crescendo this week when he started taking his misery to social media. He was cut Tuesday.

Bell seemed to be fine with the decision:

It is a far different tone than he had when he signed a contract for more than $50 million with the New York Jets in 2019.

Bell came off IR with a hamstring injury to play Sunday in a loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Per ESPN:

The breaking point was Sunday, when Bell was upset with his role in the Jets’ 30-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Afterward, he declined media interview requests, but took to Twitter and “liked” comments from media members that suggested he was being misused and should be traded.

Overall, he had 863 yards in 17 games. Oof.

Watch: DeAndre Hopkins makes insane TD catch from Kyler Murray

DeAndre Hopkins again showing why he is an elite wide receiver.

DeAndrew Hopkins and Kyler Murray were at MetLife Stadium Sunday and they provided more highlights in one plan than the home team, the New York Jets, have all season for the fans of Gang Green.

Check out the perfect pass and one-hand grab the Cardinals’ combo teams for in the fourth quarter.

Wow.

Watch: Cardinals lineman drops Kyler Murray during celebratory chest-bump

Kyler Murray got the worst of a chest-bump with a Cardinals lineman.

Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals decided to celebrate local guy Chase Edmonds’ 29-yard TD run at MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets in the first quarter Sunday.

Mistake.

The Arizona quarterback found himself on the wretched stadium turf after a chest-bump gone awry.

Given Arizona was playing the Jets, it probably will be the hardest hit Murray will take all game.
