Jets’ Greg Zuerlein had an interesting, cheerleader warm-up in London (video)

No one had a warm-up routine quite like Greg Zuerlein in Week 5.

The Jets (2-3) went on to lose 23-17 to the Vikings (5-0) in their Week 5 clash.

Before the game, as usual, Zuerlein got in some practice… but this time it was a bit different.

Perhaps due to some extra pre-game festivities with the contest being held in London, the Vikings cheerleaders got in his way. He didn’t let them stop him.

Zuerlein kept on going and warmed up with the Viking cheerleaders dancing around him. It made for a hilarous video.

Jets’ running game ‘clearly not good enough’ in loss to Vikings

Jets’ running game ‘clearly not good enough’ in loss to Vikings

It was another poor effort on the ground for the New York Jets offense against the Minnesota Vikings.

Out in London during their Week 5 matchup, the Jets only mustered up 36 rushing yards in the 23-17 loss.

Head coach Robert Saleh was direct about the struggles.

“The run game is clearly not good enough,” Saleh said.

Top running back Breece Hall led New York with 23 yards on the ground on nine carries. That was good for a 2.6 yards per carry average.

“I mean, it is what it is. At the end of the day, I just want to win,” Hall said via video conference. “If you don’t run for 100 yards, people will think you suck or whatever.”‘

That poor display running the ball came after the Jets had only 64 in Week 4 in a loss to the Denver Broncos. Hall had 10 carries for four yards in that one.

Jets’ Robert Saleh calls Aaron Rodgers’ play inconsistent vs. Vikings

The New York Jets did not get the best effort out of quarterback Aaron Rodgers in Week 5.

Out in London, the Jets (3-2) lost 23-17 to the Minnesota Vikings (5-0). Rodgers’ game involved three interceptions, including a pick-six.

Rodgers knows he played a part in the Jets losing.

“Obviously, that was below my standard,” Rodgers said via video conference. “In a game when you lose by six, plays like that are exponentially highlighted. Three turnovers for me is out of character and I’m disappointed.”

New York head coach Robert Saleh was not shy, either.

The Jets did make a comeback, however, it was not enough. Rodgers’ final play was his third giveaway. That led to Saleh admitting his QB did not play consistently.

“Obviously up and down,” Saleh said. “The biggest thing that we talked about coming into this game was playing clean ball.”

The New York Jets fell to the Minnesota Vikings at home in their Week 5 matchup.

In a game which featured a roller coaster of emotions for New York, the Jets went down early and clawed back into the game.

Unfortunately, miscues added up for the Jets. The Vikings ended up taking the 23-17 win in the end.

Jets snap counts: Depth chart breakdown vs. Broncos

Jets snap counts: Depth chart breakdown vs. Broncos

The New York Jets got after it against the Denver Broncos and ended up losing 10-9 on Sunday during the NFL’s Week 4 slate.

But who exactly were the ones on the field for the Jets (2-2) doing all the dirty work against the Broncos (2-2)?

More often than not, taking a look in between the lines at snap count totals for New York’s players can give us some insight as to what went down in between the lines on the gridiron.

There will always be plenty to discover when looking at these finer details.

With that, here’s how the Jets depth chart broke down via snap counts in their loss against the Broncos:

Aaron Rodgers, Robert Saleh disagree about Jets offense vs. Broncos

Aaron Rodgers, Robert Saleh disagree about Jets offense vs. Broncos

Well, that got a bit awkward at MetLife Stadium.

The New York Jets (2-2) and their performance against the Denver Broncos (2-2) in a 10-9 loss in Week 4 was bad enough.

Adding to that was the disagreement between quarterback and head coach.

Aaron Rodgers responded to an assessment that Robert Saleh had on the team’s offense during his post-game press conference.

The coach suggested that, perhaps, the way the offense operates has to be changed.

“We’ve got to figure it out, whether or not we’re good enough or ready to handle all the cadence,” Saleh said via video conference. “Felt like our operation had been operating pretty good. Obviously, today it took a major step back.”

That’s where Rodgers disagreed. The QB said the standard just needs to be higher.

“That’s one way to do it,” Rodgers said. “The other way is to hold them accountable. We haven’t had an issue.”

Rodgers’ frustrations are a bit understandable. His stats from the game tell the story. Not his 24-for-42 passing numbers, rather, the 14 QB hits and five sacks Rodgers took–not to mention the multiple penalties New York’s offensive line were flagged for.

Rodgers’ full response can be found in the clip below:

Jets’ Sauce Gardner deletes tweet defending performance vs. Broncos

Jets’ Sauce Gardner deletes tweet defending performance vs. Broncos

Sauce Gardner did not appear to be part of the problem in the New York Jets’ loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 4, but he wasn’t really wanting to hear about the game after it.

Following the 10-9 final, Gardner took to social media and replied to a message sent his way. On X/Twitter, the cornerback messaged his stats back to someone that was critical of his efforts. It was eventually deleted but the internet can live forever:

Clearly not happy about the outcome, Gardner was likely just expressing his frustrations. It happens.

New York’s secondary, Gardner included, held Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix to just 60 yards passing.

They held up their end of the bargain.

However, Pro Football Focus does say something slightly different about his stats. While Gardner did have five tackles, the football analytics outlet credit him with allowing two catches and 29 yards.

To each their own.

What Jets’ Robert Saleh said about penalty problems vs. Broncos

What Jets’ Robert Saleh said about penalty problems vs. Broncos

The New York Jets shot themselves in the foot over and over again against the Denver Broncos.

The Jets (2-2) lost 10-9 to the Broncos (2-2) and in the process took 15 penalties. Of those, 13 were accepted for a loss of 90 yards.

While some can be debated such as wide receiver Allen Lazard celebrating a first down, when you have a number like that it’s not really a question. It’s a problem.

New York head coach Robert Saleh knows that and said it has to change.

Saleh’s full thoughts on the penalty issue can be found below:

Jets’ Aaron Rodgers on limping off field in loss vs. Broncos

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers took the brunt of his team’s loss to the Denver Broncos.

In Week 4, the Jets (2-2) lost in a 10-9 fashion to the Broncos (2-2).

Rodgers felt it. He was hit a total of 15 times and was sacked on five of those.

On one play in particular, Rodgers limped off the field. It took place in the fourth quarter and the 40-year-old played through it but it might be a situation to watch during the upcoming week.

Rodgers, for now, has downplayed it. Following the game, Rodgers said he is OK.
