Robert Saleh, Jermaine Johnson provide injury update for Jets defender

Robert Saleh, Jermaine Johnson provide injury update for #Jets defender:

Jermaine Johnson was positive, but the news was not.

During the New York Jets’ 24-17 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 2, the former first-round pick was carted off the field. Never a good sign.

The update from Robert Saleh was more of the same. The head coach was asked what was feared: Did Johnson tear his Achilles?

“It’s unfortunately looking like that,” the head coach said via video conference. “It’s not looking good.”

Saleh went on to note that the team would update the injury in the coming days following further examination.

While Saleh sounded pretty confident about the issue, Johnson was being positive and hoping for the best in the Jets (1-1) locker room following the win over the Titans (0-2).

“I’m hoping for the best. We’ve still got to clarify to be sure,” Johnson said. “It wasn’t fun.”

An emotional but upbeat Johnson can be found in the Sportsnet New York clip below:

Another Braelon Allen touchdown puts Jets up on Titans in fourth quarter (video):

The New York Jets showed their clutch gene on offense for the first time in 2024 against the Tennessee Titans.

In the fourth quarter with the game tied at 17, Braelon Allen decided he was not OK with just one touchdown.

The rookie scored for a second time against the Titans, giving his team the late lead.

Allen, running to his right, took the handoff from quarterback Aaron Rodgers. In impressive fashion, Allen burst through a hole and had nothing but room in front of him.

Allen scored on the 20-yard carry, bringing the score to 24-17.
