Celtics legend Kevin Garnett joins BetMGM as brand ambassador

Former Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett has joined BetMGM as a brand ambassador, furthering his entry into the sports betting market.

Former Boston Celtics forward and NBA Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett has joined BetMGM as a brand ambassador, the company announced Thursday. He will be featured in “marketing campaigns, BetMGM promotions, social media content and fan events,” according to the company. The former MVP played six seasons in Boston after he was acquired by the franchise in July 2007. He won a title with the team the next season.

Garnett is not new to the betting landscape, establishing a media startup called Gaming Society to cover sports gambling in June. He also played a feature role in the Adam Sandler film “Uncut Gems,” a betting-centered film that came out in 2019.

“I’m thrilled to be working with BetMGM to share their insights with my fans,” Garnett said. “It’s a natural fit for both myself and BetMGM given our mutual desire to stay on top of the ever-changing sports business landscape.”

Garnett has spent his retirement working various media-related positions and business ventures.

Nets at Celtics Game 3: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under

Our prediction and best bet for Friday’s Nets-Celtics Game 3.

Kyrie Irving returns to Boston for Game 3 of the Nets-Celtics series on Friday night, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on BetMGM.

The game tips off at 8:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on ABC.

Jayson Tatum will play for the Celtics on Friday after he left Game 2 following a poke to the eye. Kemba Walker is listed as questionable with a bone bruise. Brooklyn will be without key role player Jeff Green, who suffered a strained plantar fascia and is set to be re-evaluated in 10 days.

The lines, courtesy of BetMGM

  • Point spread: Nets -7.5
  • Money line: Nets -350 / Celtics +260
  • Over-under: 226.5

Place your legal, online sports bets in VA, CO, IA, IN, NJ, PA, TN and WV at BetMGM.

Advice and prediction

The Nets are 5-0 against the Celtics this season including the regular season, and Brooklyn has gone 5-0 against the spread in those games. Even with Jeff Green out, it’s hard to imagine this series resulting in anything but a sweep given the Nets’ firepower, and it’s a bit surprising that this line isn’t closer to -9 or -9.5. It’s also tempting to take the over here after these teams easily crushed the total in Game 2 – but be wary. The under is a surprising 4-1 in this matchup so far this season.

Take the Nets -7.5.

Prediction: Nets 117, Celtics 105

Celtics at Nets Game 2: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Our prediction and best bet for Tuesday’s Celtics-Nets game.

The Boston Celtics will try to level their first-round series with the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on BetMGM.

The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on TNT.

The Nets got off to a slow start offensively in Game 1 and trailed the Celtics at halftime, but led by Kevin Durant’s 32-point performance, the Nets took control in the third quarter and went on to win, 104-93. The Celtics will be missing Jaylen Brown, and Spencer Dinwiddie is out for the Nets.

The lines, courtesy of BetMGM

  • Point spread: Nets -9.5
  • Money line: Nets -450 / Celtics +350
  • Over-under: 227.5

Place your legal, online sports bets in VA, CO, IA, IN, NJ, PA, TN and WV at BetMGM.

Advice and prediction

In what was a rough night offensively for the Nets’ Big 3, the trio of Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving still combined for 82 points – and there’s every reason to expect they’ll surpass that total on Tuesday night. James Harden only took 13 shots in the game, and Brooklyn’s stars shot a combined 5-for-24 from beyond the arc. The Celtics had an off shooting night of their own, going 36.9 percent from the field. Without Brown in the lineup, though, it’s difficult to see how Boston can keep up offensively, especially on the road. Take the Nets -9.5.

Prediction: Nets 122, Celtics 109
