A stronger abdominal area not only allows for a faster swing, but it also adds a significant amount of stability throughout your action.

“You want your hips, your feet, your shoulders all in a straight line,” Dovsek said. “This is great for core strength.”

Take your recovery to a new level with the PlayMakar MVP Percussion Massager

Recovery from the gym and course is just as important as your training. The PlayMakar MVP Percussion Massager can help with muscle recovery.

Many go through peaks and valleys when it comes to motivation. You may have months where you feel unstoppable when it’s time to hit the course or get in the gym. Some days the thought alone is exhausting. It is important to train hard, but it is equally important to allow your body to recover.

Working out has many physical and mental benefits to the human body. It is a great tool for stress management, but too much of a good thing can result in injury, increased cortisol levels, fatigue, performance decline and more. When you allow your body to recover, you allow your muscles to use that time to repair and replenish muscle glycogen (energy stores).

A great tool to help aid in recovery is the handheld PlayMakar MVP Percussion Massager. This tool is designed to relieve muscle tightness and tension. The massager increases range of motion and decreases recovery time to help you perform better and manage pain.

PlayMakar MVP Percussion rechargeable and wireless massager- retail $249. (PlayMakar)

The device includes six quiet levels of Intensity ranging from 1200 to 2700 PPM. The percussive muscle therapy uses rapid, repetitive strokes to stimulate blood flow & heat. You can shop for the MVP Percussion Massager in addition to other recovery tools on the PlayMakar website.

Do you have calves to rival Phil Mickelson? Drink beer? Then this contest is for you

Amstel Light is celebrating the golfer’s famous lower leg muscles.

When Phil Mickelson isn’t drinking a Yeti of his signature coffee, he’s keen to pour himself an Amstel Light. At least, that’s what he’s selling these days.

In his latest promotion, Mickelson is touting “Leg Day,” and his trademarked workout regimen that produced his Adonis-like calf muscles. He boasts, “you’ll be hard-pressed to find a pair more powerful or as aesthetically pleasing as mine.”

Amstel Light is celebrating the golfer’s famous lower leg muscles and giving fans a chance to give them the cheers they deserve. As a part of the brand’s new “Leg Day” campaign, Amstel Light will give a few lucky fans the chance to toast out of limited-edition handcrafted beer steins shaped as exact replicas of Mickelson’s calves (pictured above).

“Magnificent, aren’t they?” Mickelson says in the ad.

In order to get their hands on a stein, entrants must share a photo or short video by August 1 featuring their best calf flex while including #CalvesLikePhil and #Contest in the post. Winners will be selected based on the creativity of their post or video.

“If you have the best calf flex, they’re yours,” Mickelson says of the stein, which are pretty rad, if you ask me.
