Watch: Jamaal Williams predicts a Lions win in pregame show surprise

Jamaal Williams is a man who very much enjoys what he does. The Lions running back brings an infectious positive personality and joie de vivre wherever he goes.

On Sunday morning, he brought that to the FOX 2 pregame show with an unexpected appearance.

Williams sauntered and danced his way onto the camera shot behind the set inside Ford Field. He sashayed into the shot and greeted the hosts, including a hug with former Lions OL T.J. Lang. Williams was then asked for a game prediction.

“We’re winning today,” Williams said with a smile to Will Burchfield. “I’m not very good with numbers though.”

Never change, Jamaal…

In reeling off its fourth win in five games, the Lions proved to be the superior team in every phase of Sunday’s game. Offense, defense, special teams, coaching — Detroit won every single battle convincingly.

Dan Campbell ready to rock with Metallica in Detroit next season

Lions head coach and noted Metallica fan Dan Campbell is ready to rock with the band in Detroit next season

Lions coach Dan Campbell is known for quite a few things from his press conferences over the past couple of years. One fact known by anyone who follows the Lions or Campbell: He’s a massive fan of the band Metallica.

So when Metallica announced two dates at Ford Field in Detroit for November of 2023, Campbell got excited. The band is also excited to have Campbell, who famously used their song “No Leaf Clover” in a training camp presentation captured on Hard Knocks, come see their two-night show.

Campbell recorded a message to the band and posted it on social media to help promote the concerts, which feature two straight nights with no repeat songs and different opening acts each night.

Metallica responded by appealing to the NFL to give the Lions a bye that weekend so Campbell can make the shows.

Speaking as a Lions fan who has tickets for the Metallica shows, I second that idea for the bye week. Please and thank you, Mr. NFL schedule maker…

Look: Jameson Williams has his first full practice with the Lions

Williams remains on the NFI list but can be activated at any time in the next two weeks and he looks FAST

Jameson Williams took another huge step towards making his NFL debut. The Detroit Lions first-round wide receiver participated on Wednesday in his first full-speed practice with the team on since being designated for activation from the non-football injury list.

The Lions started Williams’ 21-day activation clock last week, but the team only held walkthroughs for practice on the short week before playing the Buffalo Bills on Thanksgiving. Wednesday was the first time since he tore his ACL in January that Williams went full speed against defensive backs and with live throws.

After practice, Williams posted a couple of pics to his Instagram account.

Aside from Williams being actively involved in a full-speed practice, it’s also our first look at him in his new jersey number. Williams switched from 18 to Matthew Stafford’s old No. 9 just before the season started, a change Stafford himself endorsed.

Williams also posted this pic with fellow WRs Amon-Ra St. Brown and DJ Chark to his Instagram story

Then there’s the real fun one. The Athletic’s Colton Pouncey captured this clip of Williams in action from the Lions’ indoor practice facility:

Looks pretty darn ready to roll!

Top photos from Ford Field and the Week 1 matchup between the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles

Ford Field hasn’t been as loud as it was on Sunday in a long time, not for the home football team anyway. The Detroit Lions played an entertaining game against the Philadelphia Eagles in front of a sellout crowd of over 60,000 in Week 1.

The Eagles prevailed, 38-35, with the Lions’ furious second-half comeback coming up short. It was a stark improvement over the 44-6 outcome in the last matchup vs. Philadelphia on Halloween a year ago, but there is still work to be done in Detroit.
