DeMar DeRozan calls out Dillon Brooks after altercation

DeMar DeRozan spoke about his altercation with Dillon Brooks after the Chicago Bulls’ loss to the Houston Rockets.

The Chicago Bulls dropped their game against the Houston Rockets on Thursday night. They were riding a two-game win streak during which they took down some bottom-feeding squads and were looking to keep it going against one of the hottest teams in the NBA. Unfortunately, the Rockets got the best of them.

In the third quarter, Jalen Green blocked DeMar DeRozan, and then on the other end, the Bulls star hit the Rockets youngster with a hard foul. DeRozan got called for a Flagrant 2 for the foul, and immediately afterward, Dillon Brooks walked up to him and created an altercation. He was backing up his teammate.

“Just walking up on me in any type of way,” DeRozan said. “I don’t play the walking up on somebody when their back is turned. Nah, that’s just not a thing we do. I walked away from the situation after the foul. I just felt like it’s an issue walking up on any man from behind.”

Both DeRozan and Brooks were ejected from the game.

DeMar DeRozan breaks silence on ejection for hard foul on Jalen Green

DeMar DeRozan spoke after the game about his Flagrant 2 foul on Jalen Green in the Chicago Bulls’ loss to the Houston Rockets.

The Chicago Bulls traveled to Texas to take on the Houston Rockets on Thursday night. After a back-and-forth start to the game, the Rockets surged ahead, and after leading by double digits in the first half, Houston never looked back. The Bulls were trailing from then on despite multiple comeback attempts.

However, the real story of this game came in the third quarter. As Jalen Green was dribbling the ball up the court and going around a screen, DeMar DeRozan went up to guard him and hip-checked him into the ground. The play followed a Green block on DeRozan. The Bulls star and Dillon Brooks then got into an altercation. DeRozan was ejected for a Flagrant 2 foul, and Brooks was also tossed.

After the game, DeRozan got a chance to talk about the play for the first time, though the foul wasn’t his biggest regret. (H/t ESPN)

“Just not being out there and giving us the full chance to go out and win a game, that’s what I’m more frustrated about more than anything,” DeRozan said. “Not being out there with my guys, seeing the outcome could’ve been.”

Chicago lost to Houston by a final score of 127-117.

Ayo Dosunmu might be the Chicago Bulls’ newest star

Ayo Dosunmu could be turning into a star for the Chicago Bulls.

At the beginning of the year, this season looked lost for the Chicago Bulls. They started the year 5-14 and looked destined to be one of the worst teams in the NBA. However, the Bulls turned their season around, and now, they’re set to be in the Play-In Tournament. And along the way, a couple of players have taken massive leaps forward.

Coby White has been the standout player for the Bulls, but Ayo Dosunmu has also been extremely impressive this year. The Chicago native re-signed with the Bulls this offseason, and he’s been having an incredible season, especially since the turn of the new year.

The YouTube channel TheKidshere recently discussed whether or not Dosunmu could be the newest star for the Bulls.

Since the new year, Dosunmu is averaging 14.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists while shooting 50.0% from the field and 42.3% from behind the three-point line. He’s been amazing for Chicago this year.

Report: ‘Growing buzz’ Lonzo Ball will try to play next season

There has been a “growing buzz” that Lonzo Ball will try to return to the court for the Chicago Bulls next season.

According to KC Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago, there is a “growing buzz” that Lonzo Ball will try to play next season. The Chicago Bulls brought Lonzo Ball on board in the summer of 2021, but after an injury in early 2022 took him out, he hasn’t been back on the court since. It’s been over two years of him being sidelined.

This year, there have been a few positive updates regarding his injury recovery process, but still no signs of him making a return. Now, it’s looking like the Bulls could potentially get him back on the court next year. The real question is, will he look like a shell of his former self?

When Ball was healthy at the start of the 2021-22 season, the Bulls were one of the most surprising teams in the league. They made the playoffs that year as the sixth seed and took a game off the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round.

Since then, Chicago has been stuck in the middle of the pack in the East. Getting Ball back should help, but he likely won’t be the same player he was pre-injury. At least, not right away.

Bulls star Coby White discusses injury update on brink of return

Coby White recently spoke about his injury and potential return for the Chicago Bulls.

In the Chicago Bulls’ recent overtime win over the Indiana Pacers, Coby White went down. And he went down hard. Driving in transition in the final moments of the game, Pascal Siakam chased him down, blocked his shot, and sent White crashing to the floor. White hurt his hip and left the game. Since then, he’s missed three straight.

Losing White is brutal, as he’s been one of their best players this season. He has a real chance at winning the Most Improved Player award. Chicago has won two of the three games they’ve played without White, as they took on the Washington Wizards and Portland Trail Blazers (two of the worst teams in the league), but they still need him back as soon as possible.

Luckily for the Bulls, it sounds as though White avoided serious injury, as he recently gave an update on his situation. (H/t Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune)

“I dodged a bullet,” White said. “It could’ve been a lot worse. They said I’m pretty flexible and that’s what helped me in that scenario. I think God was with me at that point and I’m just glad it was nothing serious, nothing more than a strain.”

Getting White back will be crucial to the Bulls’ success down the stretch.

DeMar DeRozan discusses high minute totals for Bulls this season

Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan discussed his high minute totals this season.

The Chicago Bulls have been a middle-of-the-pack team for the past few seasons, but they have some great players on the roster. In addition to the emergence of Coby White this year, DeMar DeRozan has continued to show out. He continues to be one of the best clutch scorers in the league, and when the game comes down to the final few moments, the ball usually finds his hands.

On Monday night against the Portland Trail Blazers, DeRozan played 40:05, as the game came down to the wire when it probably shouldn’t have. DeRozan is 34 years old, and as the minutes pile up, the wear and tear on his body continues to increase.

The veteran wing recently spoke about his high minute totals and how he manages to take care of his body. (H/t Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune)

“I really, really try to take great care of myself,” DeRozan said. “I try to rest. I don’t have no other hobbies that cause me to exert any energy. I love playing the game no matter how many minutes it is. I just love being out there.”

DeRozan loves to play, so he’ll continue to push himself, but the Bulls need to be careful with him.

Damian Lillard traveled to Chicago to watch Bulls play Trail Blazers

Damian Lillard was at the United Center to watch the Chicago Bulls play the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Chicago Bulls welcomed the Portland Trail Blazers to town on Monday night. A little under two hours north of the United Center are the Milwaukee Bucks and Damian Lillard, who has a long-standing connection to the Trail Blazers. So, on Monday night, Lillard made the trek down to Chicago to watch the Bulls take on his former team.

This past summer was dominated by the Lillard trade saga, as it was clear that his time in Portland had come to an end. He originally requested to the Miami Heat, but after those plans failed to come to fruition, the Trail Blazers moved him to the Bucks. But he still clearly has a lot of love for the organization.

The House of Highlights YouTube channel posted a video of Lillard pulling up to the United Center to watch the Trail Blazers play the Bulls.

Chicago ended the night with a win, taking down Portland by a score of 110-107.

Ayo Dosunmu leads the way in Bulls win over Trail Blazers

Ayo Dosunmu led the way for the Chicago Bulls in their win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night.

The Chicago Bulls are fighting for their place in the 9-10 Play-In game against the Atlanta Hawks. Whoever finished the season as the ninth seed will get homecourt advantage in that game. The Bulls walked into Monday night looking for their second win in a row against a bottom-feeding squad. They beat the Washington Wizards on Saturday, and on Monday, they took on the Portland Trail Blazers.

Both squads are in line to have top-five picks in the NBA Draft this summer, so the Bulls were favored in both games. Chicago pulled out a win over Portland on Monday night, and it was Ayo Dosunmu who led the way.

The CHGO Sports YouTube channel discussed Dosunmu’s performance in the win once the game wrapped up.

Dosunmu ended the game against Portland with 23 points, one rebound, 10 assists, and one steal while shooting 9-of-17 from the field and 2-of-6 from behind the three-point line.

The Locked On Bulls podcast discussed the win afterward.

Bulls star Nikola Vucevic on absence of Coby White following injury

Chicago Bulls big man Nikola Vucevic talked about how much the team missed Coby White on the court on Thursday.

In the Chicago Bulls’ recent game against the Indiana Pacers, they gritted out an overtime win. DeMar DeRozan poured in 46 points in a game that they barely won. But it came at a cost. In the final seconds of regulation, Coby White was going up for a layup in transition. Pascal Siakam blocked him and sent White careening to the gound.

White exited the game, but an MRI revealed that it was only a small hip issue. However, while he won’t miss a ton of time, he was still out on Thursday night, and the Bulls fell to the LA Clippers. They missed White, as he has transformed into one of their best players this season.

After the game, Nikola Vucevic spoke about how much the team missed him. (H/t Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune)

“It was tough,” Vucevic said. “He’s one of our best guys in the two-man game, pick and roll, one of our best shooters in general. He gets downhill, he creates a lot, he puts a lot of pressure on the rim and hits me in the pocket or kicks out inside out. So you miss a guy like that. It’s always difficult.”

Not having White will be a challenge, but the Bulls will have to push through it.
