Vikings elevate linebacker William Kwenkeu from practice squad

This is the second-consecutive week that Kwenkeu was elevated

The Minnesota Vikings have activated someone from the practice squad each week. For week 13, they activated linebacker William Kwenkeu for both the second consecutive and second overall week.

The move will provide the Vikings with extra linebacker depth as they face the stout rushing attack of the New York Jets.

The move, however, is more likely tied to playing special teams. During Thursday night’s game against the New England Patriots, Kwenkeu only played 16 total snaps: seven on kick coverage, seven on kick return and two on punt return.

Kwenkeu has two total elevations, meaning that he has one more available before he needs to be signed to the active roster.

NFL Week 13 television broadcast maps

There are a lot of good games in week 13

Week 13 brings a lot of interesting storylines, especially with the two national broadcasts on CBS being the New York Jets versus the Minnesota Vikings and the Kansas City Chiefs versus the Cincinnati Bengals.

Outside of that, the biggest story is without a doubt the return of Deshaun Watson to the NFL, as he makes his debut for the Cleveland Browns by traveling to Houston to take on his former team the Texans.

With just five weeks left after this, the playoff race is coming down to the wire. Here is what games you will be seeing in your area.

Jets vs. Vikings Week 13: How to watch, stream & listen

Here’s all the information you need to catch Sunday’s game

The Minnesota Vikings get an opportunity to close out their three-game homestand with a win as they take on the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon.

The last time that these two teams played, the Vikings went to Met Life Stadium and beat the Jets handily by a score of 37-17. The game snapped a six-game losing streak against the Jets, who lead the all-time series 8-3-0.

The game has a few storylines laced into it, as the Vikings will be facing two of their former players in Mike Remmers and Tyler Conklin.

There is also the question of if Zach Wilson will suit up after he was benched last week for his postgame comments paired with poor performance. Mike White played really well last week for the Jets and looks to be in line to get the start.

As the Vikings continue to make a push for the NFC North division crown, make sure you know how and where to catch the game.

Vikings vs. Jets final injury report: Christian Darrisaw officially out

The Vikings will see the return of two defenders on Sunday

The Minnesota Vikings’ injury reports have been improving since Thanksgiving and that theme continued on Friday afternoon with their final week 13 injury report.

Going into Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, the Vikings will only be without two players: left tackle Christian Darrisaw and recently activated tight end Ben Ellefson.

It is worth noting that Darrisaw did return to practice with a red non-contact jersey on. This is a positive step in his return to the field. Head coach Kevin O’Connell spoke about him and that the Vikings didn’t want to rush him back.

“He’s progressing right along where the doctors want him to be, but we want to make sure we can give him a little bit more time.”

The sole addition was defensive end Ross Blacklock who appeared on the report for the first time with an illness. The last time we saw a player added with an illness on a Friday was edge rusher D.J. Wonnum in week 6 and he missed the game against the Miami Dolphins.

As expected, safety Harrison Smith was removed from the injury report, but seeing defensive end Dalvin Tomlinson and cornerback Akayleb Evans off the injury report confirms what head coach Kevin O’Connell alluded to earlier this week that they would both play on Sunday for the first time since week nine and 10 respectively.

The Vikings are ready to roll against the New York Jets.

Jets vs. Vikings: Week 13 staff preview and predictions

Our staff predicts Sunday’s game

The Minnesota Vikings are sitting on a magic number of two going into Sunday’s week 13 matchup with the New York Jets, a feat that nobody would have predicted going into the season.

Yes, there were some pundits who believed that the Vikings would win the NFC North, but nobody had them running away with the division, especially this early in the season.

The Vikings have set themselves up for a playoff run and they have done so with great coaching and a renewed belief in the locker room that this team can be a Super Bowl Champion.

Experts are picking the Vikings in droves in Week 13 vs. Jets

The experts like the Vikings this week

The Minnesota Vikings are in a position to improve their record to 10-2 when they finish their three-game homestand against the New York Jets on Sunday.

With a win on Sunday, the Vikings would go undefeated against the AFC East and give them a chance to go undefeated against the AFC with a win against the Indianapolis Colts in two weeks.

Considering the similarities between the Jets and the New England Patriots, whom the Vikings beat last Thursday, they have a really good chance to get another win.

The experts have a lot of faith in the Vikings to get their 10th win, as 80% of them have picked the purple and gold per NFL Pick Watch.

It’s going to be a fun, competitive game on Sunday afternoon.

Vikings injury report: Harrison Smith improves

The injury report improved on Thursday

The Minnesota Vikings’ initial injury report was one of the lightest we had seen in some time. On Thursday, it got even better with safety Harrison Smith improving from limited to full.

Left tackle Christian Darrisaw not practicing in any capacity on Thursday essentially seals his fate for Sunday’s game. With two concussions in eight days, it makes sense for the Vikings to play it really safe.

Tight end Ben Ellefson not practicing isn’t much of a surprise. He didn’t practice on Wednesday and was only activated because his practice era was expiring.

The improvement from Smith is a good sign as there wasn’t much worry about him to begin with.

Both Dalvin Tomlinson and Akayleb Evans are both on track to play on Sunday, which will be a huge boost to the Vikings’ defense.

Vikings injury report: Dalvin Tomlinson practices in full

The injury report is improving

The Minnesota Vikings have not had the greatest injury luck over the last month, but things look to be turning around.

The only player that did not practice was Christian Darrisaw and that was to be expected.

The good news for the Vikings is that Dalvin Tomlinson practiced in full with the calf injury that has kept him out for so long.

Akayleb Evans practing in full is fantastic as well. Andrew Booth Jr. is officially out for the season and Cameron Dantzler is unable to play until next week against the Detroit Lions.

Harrison Smith being limited with an ankle injury is a surprise, but both Adam Thielen and Za’Darius Smith appeared for weeks with minor injuries.

The injury report is as small as it has been in a few weeks and it’s likely to get better.

Vikings draw CBS’s second-best broadcast team

The Vikings will have excellent announcers on Sunday afternoon

When the Minnesota Vikings face off against the New York Jets on Sunday, it will be their second game in the last three weeks on CBS. They are rewarded with the network’s second-best broadcast team.

The Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson reported that Ian Eagle, Charles Davis and Evan Washburn will be calling the game.

Tomasson also reported that this will be Davis’ first game with CBS and that he last called a Vikings game back in 2019.

The game will be the national game in the noon slot with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Cincinnati Bengals in the primetime slot. They will be getting the top broadcasting team of Jim Nantz, Tony Romo and Tracy Wolfson.

Vikings open up as 3.5-point favorites in Week 13 vs. Jets

The line is slightly smaller than it was last week

The Minnesota Vikings end their three-game homestand against the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon. For the second-straight week, the Vikings are only slight favorites at home with Tipico Sportsbook. having the purple and gold as 3.5-point favorites.

The spread being so close makes some sense. The Jets just improved their record to 7-4 with a 31-10 walloping of the Chicago Bears. They are currently third in the AFC but only one game behind the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills.

A win for the Vikings would give them an undefeated record over an AFC division in a single season since 1998 where the only regular season loss was to their NFC Central foe Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

A win for the Vikings would also get them one step closer to a division title, as they can clinch with a win and a Detroit Lions loss.
