For the second-straight week, Christian Darrisaw is being evaluated for a concussion

Not great for the second-year tackle

The injury bug is hitting the Minnesota Vikings hard over the past couple of weeks with nobody being hit harder than left tackle Christian Darrisaw.

After suffering a concussion in week 10 against the Buffalo Bills, Darrisaw is being evaluated for another concussion in the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

After being in the concussion protocol all week long, Darrisaw cleared the protocol on Friday and fully participated in practice. He was also removed from the injury report.

If he can’t return to the game, he will be replaced by Blake Brandel who filled in admirably against the Bills.

Vikings inactives headlined by familiar face, sign TE Nick Muse

The Vikings have some familiar names on their inactive list

The Minnesota Vikings made a roster move this weekend that impacted the inactives when they signed TE Nick Muse to the active roster as they couldn’t elevate him from the practice squad. In turn they released OLB Benton Whitley.

They needed to do something with Ben Ellefson not ready to come off of injured reserve. In turn, they elevated cornerback Tay Gowan for the game due to Akayleb Evans leading the inactive list for Sunday’s game.

Defensive end Dalvin Tomlinson is also out today with a calf injury, but he reportedly worked out pregame with the defense. That could be a sign of his impending return on Thanksgiving night.

The rest of the inactives aren’t a surprise, as Esezi Otomewo, Vederian Lowe and Chris Reed have been inactive each week with only the other inactive Luiji Vilain having been active for a game.

Vikings Week 11 injury report: Christian Darrisaw upgraded

The Vikings saw some improvement from their star tackle

The Minnesota Vikings saw some good news on the injury report on Thursday afternoon when left tackle Christian Darrisaw practiced on a limited basis with a concussion.

Anytime you see a player in the concussion protocol get upgraded on Thursday, it’s a big deal. Unfortunately for his teammate cornerback Akayleb Evans, he did not show any improvement.

Defensive end Dalvin Tomlinson still didn’t practice with his calf injury. Those are treated with extreme caution but it’s still a bad sign to see him still not practicing.

Both outside linebacker Za’Darius Smith and wide receiver Justin Jefferson seem to be fine but the team is taking it easy with them both.

Friday is the last day of practice for the week and it will be huge, especially for Darrisaw and Evans.

Vikings could be first home underdog with 8-1 record since 1976

The Vikings aren’t getting enough respect from the sportsbooks

The Minnesota Vikings opened up as a two-point underdog to the Dallas Cowboys this upcoming Sunday, per Tipico Sportsbook, and that line could make history.

[lawrence-related id=68900]

According to ESPN Stats and Info, if the Vikings remain an underdog, it would be the first time since 1976 that a home team with an 8-1 record or better would be an underdog that had its starting quarterback.

It feels like the Vikings are getting a little too much disrespect from the sportsbooks, but the Cowboys are a very good football team and will present a very tough challenge for the Vikings.

There is still time for the line to shift in the Vikings’ favor, but it would be asking a lot to see the line shift by more than two points at this point in the week.
