Carsen Edwards tallied 19 points for the Red Claws on Saturday

The second-round pick logged his fourth game with the Maine Red Claws in the G League on Saturday.

Boston Celtics rookie Carsen Edwards recorded 19 points for the Maine Red Claws on Saturday during the NBA G League Winter Showcase in Las Vegas.

Edwards hauled in seven rebounds and dished out two assists during the 128-125 win over the Delaware Blue Coats, as he shot 8-of-21 from the field, including 3-of-13 from 3-point range.

The second-round pick scored 23 points for the Red Claws on Thursday as he and rookie teammate Tremont Waters combined for 50 points on the first day of the Winter Showcase.

The Celtics assigned Edwards to the Red Claws on Dec. 12 to get additional playing time as he was used sparingly leading up to that point. On Friday, Celtics head coach Brad Stevens indicated Edwards will re-join the team by January.

Overall, Edwards turned in another solid performance on Saturday though he did struggle with his shot once again from 3-point range. He is shooting just 26.3% (10-of-38) from beyond the arc during his time with the Red Claws.

After playing on Saturday, the Red Claws are off until Friday as the G League Winter Showcase wraps up on Sunday. With the team off for a few days, the Celtics may opt to recall Edwards from the G League.

The Celtics play next on Sunday against the Charlotte Hornets.
