Carsen Edwards scores 41 points on 50 % shooting with Red Claws

Boston Celtics rookie Carsen Edwards scored 41 points on 14-of-28 points in a win for the Maine Red Claws, and Tremont Waters added 16 points, 8 assists and a game-winner.

It was a good night last night for the Boston Celtics last night, even the ones playing with the Maine Red Claws.

While the parent club was busy beating the pants off of the Philadelphia 76ers for the first time this season, rookie Carsen Edwards went off for 41 points with the team’s G League affiliate, hitting 14-of-28 shots and 6-of-13 overall.

He also had 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.

Tremont Waters bounced back from a middling performance in his prior contest, scoring 16 points, 8 assists and 2 steals while going 6-of-11 from the floor and 2-of-4 from beyond the arc.

He nearly went 3-of-5 with a last-second game-winner, too, but it was ruled a two after review.

The duo helped carry the Red Claws to a 119-117 win over the Greensboro Swarm, the G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets.

The Red Claws next face the Canton Charge (the Cleveland Cavaliers’ developmental affiliate) at home on Thursday, February 6th at 7pm.
