Carlin Fils-aime opts out of 2020 season.

KNOXVILLE — Tennessee has kicked off game week in preparation for its first contest of the 2020 season at South Carolina.

Ahead of the matchup, Jeremy Pruitt met with media and announced that redshirt senior running back Carlin Fils-aime has opted out of the 2020 season.

“Carlin graduated this summer and he’s sitting out this year,” Pruitt said. “He, possibly, may come back in January, but we’ve yet to decide that. When that time comes, we’ll get together and decide that.

“He’s a guy that has done everything that we’ve asked him to do as a player, since I’ve been here. Unfortunately, he’s had some injuries that have kept him off the field, but has been a great student, role model, good teammate and we would love to have him back for sure.”

Fils-aime has appeared in 33 games since 2016 for the Vols, totaling 309 rushing yards, five rushing touchdowns, four receptions and 18 receiving yards.
