Cardinals wrap up draft taking EDGE Jesse Luketa, OL Marquis Hayes with final 2 picks

The Cardinals use their final two selections on another edge defender and another offensive lineman.

The Arizona Cardinals had three seventh-round selections in the 2022 draft and the final two were consecutive picks at No. 256 and No. 257. With those final two selections, they added another edge defender and offensive lineman.

With the 256th pick, they selected Penn State defensive end Jesse Luketa, who was the pass rusher opposite Arnold Ebiketie.

With the 257th, they took Oklahoma lineman Marquis Hayes.

Luketa played linebacker until 2021, when he moved to defensive end. He is 6-3 and 253 lbs. He only had half a sack in 2021 and 8.5 tackles for loss. He did have an interception that he returned for a touchdown.

He was a team captain and plays with high motor. He played well at the Senior Bowl.

Hayes was a teammate of Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and receiver Marquise Brown in 2018, although Hayes did not play that season. He is 6-5 and 318 lbs and played in the Senior Bowl as well.

He played left guard for the Sooners but got some work at the Senior Bowl at right guard.
