Cardinals trading No. 3 pick given as bold prediction for 2023 draft

Draft Wire’s Jeff Ridson says his first bold prediction is the Cardinals trading out of the third overall pick.

The Arizona Cardinals have the third overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft next month. They find themselves in a great position because they can potentially take the best non-quarterback in the entire draft.

They also can trade the pick to get a haul of picks this year and next year.

Draft Wire managing editor Jeff Risdon made 10 bold predictions for the draft next month.

His first was that the Cardinals would trade the No. 3 pick.

The Arizona Cardinals are currently slated to make the No. 3 pick. They will not, however, make the pick at No. 3.

Arizona will trade the pick to a team looking to snag the best remaining quarterback on the board. The Cardinals will get a first-round pick this year, along with a Day 2 pick and a player who can start right away in return.

This isn’t really a bold prediction. The belief is that the Cardinals are actively seeking to trade back so they can add multiple players in the draft and potentially add future picks as well, all while still landing a top target.
