Cardinals sign safety to practice squad

After trying out Friday, the Cardinals added S Jason Taylor II to the practice squad.

The Arizona Cardinals announced a practice squad move on Tuesday. After bringing him in for a workout on Friday, they signed safety Jason Taylor II to the practice squad and made room for him by releasing offensive lineman Marquis Hayes.

Taylor is not related to the Hall of Fame pass rusher. He played collegiately at Oklahoma State and was a seventh-round pick of the L.A. Rams in 2023. He was first-team All-Big 12 in 2022.

The six-foot, 204-pound safety was on injured reserve for a part of last season and played eight games, participating in 39 snaps on defense and 111 on special teams.

This year, he was waived by the Rams in the cutdown to 53 players and signed to the practice squad the following day. However, he was released from the practice squad last week.

Taylor is the only safety on the practice squad.
