Cardinals’ season teetering on verge of disaster after loss to Lions

They are now 0-4 in the last two seasons in playoff-clinching games the last two seasons.

The Arizona Cardinals’ 2021 season has suddenly turned. They looked like the best team in the NFL for most of the season. They had the No. 1 seed in the NFC for much of the year.

They were 7-0.

They lost a tough game to the Green Bay Packers, went 2-1 without Kyler Murray and then lost on Monday night to the Los Angeles Rams.

At 10-3, they were still in a good place.

With their 30-12 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, it looks different.

It appears that they could be fading down the stretch like they did last year.

Over the last two seasons, the Cardinals are 0-4 in playoff-clinching scenarios. They are 3-4 in their last seven games, have lost two games in a row and have three very tough games coming up. The Indianapolis Colts come to Arizona on Christmas Day with the best running back in the league and having won five of their last six games.

Then the Cardinals travel to play the Dallas Cowboys on the road. Dallas is 10-4 and has won three games in a row.

They close the season at home against the always-tough Seattle Seahawks.

While the Cardinals’ longest losing streak this year is their current two-game skid, with the loss to the Lions, it makes one wonder if they will win a game the rest of the year.

After last year’s collapse and their current struggles, it is a nervous time to be a Cardinals fan.
