Cardinals met with big-bodied CB at Hula Bowl

The Arizona Cardinals have at least some interest in Texas Tech CB Rayshad Williams.

It is the time of year when NFL teams show interest in a lot of players leading up to the NFL draft. Part of that interest is because they like the player and part of it is because they want to know whether they should like the player.

One player the Arizona Cardinals have met with a big cornerback from Texas Tech.

Texas Tech cornerback Rayshad Williams told The Draft Network’s Justin Melo that he met with the Cardinals and other teams at the Hula Bowl.

Williams is a 6-foot-3, 215-pound cornerback who can play outside. He was not invited to the NFL combine so his testing numbers will come from the first-ever conference-wide Big 12 pro day this spring.

Williams spent two years at UCLA before transferring to Texas Tech. Over three seasons in Lubbock, in 38 games, he had 74 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one interception, one fumble recovery and 23 pass breakups.

As of right now, he is probably going to be an undrafted free agent but a good showing at his pro day perhaps could elevate him into a late Day 3 selection.
