Cardinals lineman D.J. Humphries got ejected after he accidentally smacked an official on the head

Yeah, that’ll do it.

There isn’t an easier way to get ejected from a football game than by making contact with an official. It doesn’t even matter if the official was the intended target, they’re going to call it every time.

So, we can’t be too surprised to see that Arizona Cardinals left tackle D.J. Humphries got tossed from Sunday’s Week 7 game against the Seahawks. But it was odd to see that Seahawks linebacker Jordyn Brooks didn’t also make an early trip back to the locker room.

The entire scene unfolded after an interception (that was negated by a roughing penalty) as Humphries and Brooks exchanged some pushes. When the official tried to intervene on the scuffle, Humphries missed his shove and made contact with the official’s head.

But it was awfully clear that Brooks also made contact with the official there. Yet, just Humphries was ejected from the game.

NFL officiating really hasn’t made much sense on Sunday.
