Cardinals DB Jeff Gladney dies at age 25

Former Vikings first-round pick and Arizona Cardinals DB Jeff Gladney has died

Tragic news out of the NFL on Monday as Arizona Cardinals DB Jeff Gladney has died at the age of 25, according to multiple reports.

Details on the cause of death for the former No. 1 draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings were scarce at the time of writing.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jalen Reagor, who was at TCU with Gladney before both moved on to the NFL, tweeted about the death.

Gladney was the 31st overall pick by the Vikings in 2020 out of TCU. He played in 15 games with no interceptions and 81 total tackles (63 solo, 18 assisted).

On April 5, 2021, Gladney turned himself in to authorities on a felony family violence assault charge in Dallas, after he was alleged to have struck his girlfriend during an argument. He was indicted on August 3, 2021, for domestic violence.

The Vikings released Gladney after the indictment.

On March 10, 2022, he was found not guilty.

Six days later, he signed with the Arizona Cardinals.
