Cardinals are touchdown underdogs in season opener

The 49ers did not cover either game between the two teams last season.

The Arizona Cardinals have high hopes for the 2020 NFL season and begin their year with a road game against the San Francisco 49ers. Even with higher expectations, oddsmakers don’t give them much of a chance in Week 1.

According to BetMGM odds, the Cardinals are seven-point underdogs against the Niners.

The Cardinals lost both games last season to the 49ers but played them close. They lost by three points in their game in Arizona and by 10 in Santa Clara, although they had a lead in the final minutes.

The 49ers did not cover the spread in either game.

Betting the money line shows the 49ers are significant favorites at -334, meaning a $10 wager would win only $2.99 with a win. The Cardinals are +260, meaning a $10 bet on them would win $26.

The point total is set at 47 points. In their two games last season, the combined for 53 and 62 points.

In 2019, the Cardinals went 9-5-2 ATS, while the 49ers went 11-7-1 ATS. Arizona had the fourth-highest cover percentage in the NFL, while the 49ers were tied with the fifth-highest.

Arizona was 9-7 O/U last year, while the 49ers went 9-9-1.
