Cardinals add pair of linebackers to ‘futures’ deals

They add former safeties Jamal Carter and Donald Rutledge but designate them as linebackers.

The Arizona Cardinals announced a pair of offseason roster additions on Wednesday. They added a pair of linebackers, signing them to “futures” contracts — Jamal Carter and Donald Rutledge.

However, these players come with a twist. The Cardinals announced them both as linebackers but both have previously been defensive backs.
