Canadian policy change will allow Kyrie Irving to play in Toronto

Reports indicate that Canada will be lifting its vaccine mandate, which will allow for Kyrie Irving to compete against the Raptors.

Last season guard Kyrie Irving was limited to 29 regular season appearances to his personal decision not to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, but Irving is hoping to play a full season starting in October, and a recent policy change could make that possible.

The Canadian government is set to drop a vaccine requirement at the border that has kept unvaccinated athletes from being able to play across the country.

The mandate will be lifted by the end of September, allowing people to enter the country without a vaccination. The mandate changes have yet to be finalized by the cabinet, but it seems likely that all athletes will be able to compete in Canada without a vaccination.

The Nets and Raptors are in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference so the organization will need Irving to help their rankings in their division.
