Can Nick Sirianni unlock Eagles’ WR Jalen Reagor by playing him more in the slot?

Jalen Reagor is the Eagles starting WR on the outside, but Adam Caplan reports that he’ll see time in the slot this season as well.

The Eagles traded out of the No. 6 position and part of the thinking centers around Nick Sirianni and his staff having a good feeling about the wide receiving corps as it’s currently constructed.

During a recent episode of the Inside The Birds podcast, Adam Caplan revealed that the Eagles plan to play Jalen Reagor more in the slot this season.

It won’t be a total move from the X or Z position, but it could allow the Eagles to at times, have a mismatch inside against slot or nickel cornerbacks.

Greg Ward led the Eagles receivers in receptions last season and he’s also among the league leaders and shortest routes run over the past two seasons.

The Eagles need to be more explosive overall and getting Reagor matched up in space could do wonders for the former TCU star in year-two.

Philadelphia actually passed on Justin Jefferson in the 2020 NFL Draft because the feeling was that Reagor could provide more value to the offense, as an outside receiver.
