Can Giants, Saquon Barkley avoid the ‘ManningCast curse?’

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley appeared on the ManningCast in Week 1, which spelled disaster for most players/teams a season ago.

Is the ManningCast Curse a real thing? New York Giants fans and running back Saquon Barkley are about to find out.

Barkley tempted fate by appearing on ESPN’sΒ Monday Night Football alternative broadcast starring former Giants quarterback Eli Manning and his Hall of Famer brother, Peyton, this week.

Last year, almost every active player who appeared on the show had a rough time in their next game.

Barkley led the Giants to a thrilling 21-20 win against the Tennessee Titans in the season opener last Sunday, racking up 194 yards from scrimmage with a touchdown and the game-winning two-point conversion.

The actual interview was a huge nothingburger with the brothers taking their usual tired jabs at one another with Barkley attempting to tow the company line in the middle.

The Giants host the Carolina Panthers this Sunday at MetLife Stadium and are early 2.5-point favorites.
