Can Adrian Peterson hit 1,000 and 40?

Can AP hit two notable marks?

Washington Redskins interim coach Bill Callahan brought up a few interesting points Thursday as his team preps to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15.

Both centered on running back Adrian Peterson.

One: He’d like to think Peterson can play until he’s 40 years old, according to Matthew Paras of The Washington Times.

Perhaps more feasible in the short term and more important to the Redskins success right now is Peterson continuing to pile up yardage on the ground.

Peterson continues to charge ahead to the 1,000-yard mark, which is something Callahan seems unsure of as far as standards go these days:

Peterson currently has 718 yards and three scores on a 4.3 average with three games left. With Derrius Guice now on the shelf with an injury, he’ll be a workhorse and surely has a fair shot at hitting 1,000.

As for 40, Peterson is only 34. The position suggests he might not make it but…why doubt Peterson after all he’s accomplished so far?
