Cam Newton says he would backup Bills QB Josh Allen

Cam Newton says he would backup #Bills QB Josh Allen:

Cam Newton currently does not have a job in the NFL. He’s a free agent.

Now 33, Newton has long expressed his belief that he’s one of the best 32 QBs in the NFL. Translation: Newton thinks he should be a starter right now.

What many have said… or assumed… is that Newton is not willing to be a backup.

Evidently, that’s wrong. Not only did Newton himself say that yes, he would be a No. 2, he named 10 different quarterbacks he would backup.

Among that list was the Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen.

Now for the question, is that realistic? Maybe.

Buffalo signed Kyle Allen to be their backup in 2023. However, during Newton’s prime years with the Carolina Panthers, he worked alongside current Bills general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott.

That makes his thoughts all the more interesting.

Should the Bills consider it?

That’s a different debate, but here’s your proof: Check out the clip below for Newton stating he would sign up to be Buffalo’s backup:
