The last time the Pittsburgh Steelers were away from Heinz Field, the outcome was vastly different. And so was the Steelers locker room.
The day after Christmas, Week 16, Pittsburgh fell to the Chiefs in Kansas City, 36-10. Today, in the regular-season finale, the Steelers won a do-or-die game in overtime.
“You can see the difference in that locker room,” Cam Heyward said, per a tweet from TribLive’s Chris Adamski. “You could hear a pin drop after that game [in Kansas City].”
“Guys are excited, guys that have worked their tails off. It hasn’t been perfect, but we’re grinding out these wins. Man, we’re just hungry.”
The Steelers must stay hungry because if tonight’s Chargers-Raiders game doesn’t end in a tie, they’re heading back to Kansas City for Super Wild Card weekend.
