Calvin Ridley is itching to get started with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In an interview with Bucky Brooks on Wednesday, the recently reinstated wide receiver said he wishes that the Jaguars’ offseason workout program — which is scheduled to begin April 17 — would get started tomorrow.
And most of all, Ridley is excited that when he makes his return to the NFL after nearly two years away from the field, that he’ll be suiting up for a team on the rise.
“I know Coach Doug [Pederson] has the formula to win and I want to be a part of that,” Ridley said. “That’s what it’s about. That’s why we work hard is to win those games and be in those important games. I want to be in important games. I think Coach Doug and Trevor [Lawrence] and the whole Jacksonville organization is going that direction and I want to be a part of that.”
Ridley, 28, was acquired by the Jaguars in a November trade when the team was 2-6. In the time after the deal, Jacksonville got red-hot and won seven of its last nine games to steal the AFC South crown and make the playoffs.
Along the way, Ridley became one of the Jaguars’ biggest cheerleaders on social media.

During Ridley’s four-year stint with the Falcons, the team never recorded a winning season. In his time with the team, Ridley recorded 3,342 receiving yards and 28 touchdown receptions.
