Virginia Tech cornerback Caleb Farley will not be attending the 2021 NFL draft event in Cleveland due to a positive COVID-19 test, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Farley is “asymptomatic and feels totally normal,” per agent Drew Rosenhaus.
Farley opted out of the 2020 college football season due to the pandemic, and was wide regarded as a potential top-10 pick before undergoing back surgery during the offseason. It’s possible Farley could still be a first-round pick Thursday night, but it will be highly dependent on his medical evaluation.
