Caitlin Clark is collecting awards as if they were toys. The Iowa Hawkeyes’ worldwide star has been racking up awards for the last couple of seasons and that is only continuing now as more and more awards are announcing their winners.
On the heels of winning the Naismith Trophy yesterday, Caitlin Clark has added another player of the year trophy to her trophy case. She has been named the AP Player of the Year.

Rather than finding out the award through a standard letter or announcement, Iowa had better ideas. In a bit of fun, the award was announced during a team meeting today by head coach Lisa Bluder in the form of a jeopardy game. The Hawkeyes took turns guessing the phrase until it became clear and started the celebration together.

Clark has put together what may be her best season yet with the Hawkeyes. During the 2023-24 campaign, she has averaged 32 points per game, 7.3 rebounds, and 9 assists. She is hitting on 46% of her field goals and is 38% from three-point range.
The award is certainly special to Clark but is dwarfed by the task at hand. Caitlin Clark is eyeing down the UConn Huskies in the Final Four matchup on Friday night in Cleveland, Ohio. She and the Hawkeyes are aiming for a return to the title game with a chance to capture the National Championship.
