The Indiana Fever have emerged from the Olympic break as the WNBA’s hottest team. And while much of that is fueled by Caitlin Clark’s stellar play, the entire team has used that time off to build on-court chemistry.
That couldn’t have been more clear in Sunday’s game against the Dallas Wings.
One play, in particular, had the Fever looking more like the Showtime Fever.
With the Fever on the break early in the first quarter, Clark fired off a one-handed, three-quarter-court pass to Kelsey Mitchell who unleashed a perfect behind-the-back pass to NaLyssa Smith for the layup. Everything about the sequence was mesmerizing.

Clark’s pass was already impressive, but Mitchell took it to another level by already thinking of the next step when the ball was on the way. Again, that’s where that improved chemistry comes in, and it’s so fun to watch.
Mitchell led all scorers with 36 points, and Clark added 28 points and 12 assists of her own in the win.
Fans also couldn’t get enough of that play. It was poetry in motion.
