No. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham on Wednesday registered his fifth straight 20-point outing to lead the Detroit Pistons in a 114-108 loss to the Chicago Bulls.
He finished with 22 points, six assists and four rebounds in 36 minutes of work. He scored 10 points alone in the third quarter as the Pistons led by seven points to begin the final period, but DeMar DeRozan scored 16 of his 36 total points late to lead the Bulls.
With the performance, Cunningham became just the fourth Pistons rookie to record at least 20 points in five consecutive games, joining Dave Bing, Kelly Tripucka and Grant Hill. He is the only rookie to do reach that mark this season.

Cunningham now has 18 20-point games on the season, the most by a rookie. He is averaging 22.4 points, eight rebounds, 5.8 assists and one steal on 45.9% shooting from the field over his last five games as the Pistons have posted a 3-2 record during that span.
The 20-year-old has reached several impressive benchmarks throughout the season and is just scratching the surface of his potential. Behind his play, the Pistons look to have a bright future ahead.
