Bulls’ Nikola Vucevic fined $15,000 for obscene gesture

The Bulls center made an inappropriate gesture towards a fan in Wednesday’s loss.

On Friday, the NBA announced that Bulls center Nikola Vucevic was fined $15,000 for making an obscene gesture towards a fan in Wednesday’s loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.

With 4:32 remaining in the first quarter, Vucevic was called for a travel, which led to a Pelicans fan yelling something at the Bulls center, causing the gesture.

Vooch apologized for the gesture following Wednesday’s game. “I figured I would (get fined). It was just in the moment,” Vucevic said. “I got called for a travel. I heard somebody in the stands say something. It wasn’t really towards anybody. It was just frustration.”

Vucevic said his teammates were teasing him about the incident being that that’s not who he is, as this comes as his first ever fine in the NBA.

“That’s not who I am. I’ve never had any issues. I’ve never been fined before. It sucks that it was such a little, stupid thing I did in the moment,” Vucevic said. “Obviously, I have to do better and make sure I don’t do that again. Just not a great moment. I apologize to the fans and everybody for it. I’ll learn from it.”
