Buffs hoops commit named Gatorade Player of the Year for second time

Joe Hurlburt was named Gatorade Player of the Year for the second consecutive season in his home state of North Dakota. Hurlburt is a member of the Colorado Buffaloes’ 2022 recruiting class.

Joe Hurlburt, a member of the Colorado Buffaloes’ 2022 recruiting class, was named Gatorade Player of the Year for the second consecutive season in his home state of North Dakota. Hurlburt is a senior at Enderlin Area High School in Enderlin, North Dakota and will be joining the Buffs in the fall for his first year of college hoops.

Gatorade Player of the Year awards are given to one top-performing high school athlete in each state across the country for excellence in their given sport each season, in addition to one player recognized nationally as the top athlete across the country in their sport.

Hurlburt, a center, is listed at six-foot-10 and 220 pounds, bringing some serious size to Colorado’s roster. Other schools that had shown interest in him include Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, and Minnesota.
