Cody Ford or bust?
Speaking of Ford taking over for Nsekhe once an ankle injury occurred, the Bills are hoping in 2020 that the second-year lineman does exactly that without an injury needing to occur. As a rookie, there was plenty of times we saw Ford play worse than Nsekhe, the experienced vet who took a very scenic route to the NFL. Buffalo traded up in the second round of the 2019 draft to take Ford, so they’re expecting big things from him.
But, even if it’s Nsekhe looking better, that might only alter some future plans. We still haven’t seen the Bills roll the dice on Ford at guard on the inside of the line during his brief career. That could happen, and the front office would then adjust future draft and free agency needs to keep up with that.
And of course, there’s another year of growth to consider. We’re looking at quarterback Josh Allen potentially improving once again, but in that same mindset, we can see the same from Ford, too.
Ty Nsekhe has been a DNP for weeks.
That won't be the case today. He actually looks pretty good during the little media gets to watch practice. #Bills pic.twitter.com/WHz4o3dVR8— Thad Brown (@thadbrown7) December 26, 2019
