Interestingly enough, Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs, when having his first interview since his arrival in Buffalo, was asked about his contract status with the Bills. Is what he essentially said was… no sweat.
It looks like we know why that was his response.
Only moments after Diggs got off the horn, it was revealed via NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo that the Bills already restructured Diggs’ contract on Tuesday. Per that report, money in his deal was moved up to the first two years of the remaining four years on it.

Originally, Diggs agreed to a five-year, $72 million contract in 2018 with the Vikings. Garafolo speculated that the restructure came into play because of the recent opt-outs the Bills have had, namely defensive tackle Star Lotulelei, which cleared up some cap space in 2020.
But Diggs would have made his comments on Wednesday already having known his deal was already tinkered with by Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane. Even though this new restructure has happened, it sounds like Diggs is still thinking a new contract could be coming his way in the future, just maybe not in the near future.
For sure, things will be discussed at one point, but you know there’s no rush on that or however we’re going to go. You know, we’ll see. I’m more focused on football right now. The business side will really take care of itself,” Diggs said.
