Parry, 59, was previously an NFL referee from 2007 to 2018 and primarily a side judge from 2000 to 2006. Parry has two Super Bowls on his resume.
Since 2019, he has served as ESPN’s rules analyst.
It’s likely that the Bills, including Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott, will use Parry in some capacity to improve the their in-game challenges. It remains to be seen in what type of capacity Parry could help, but McDermott has a 10-23 overall record on challenges in his head-coaching career.
Per ESPN, Parry’s title with the team is that of an “officiating liaison.” He reportedly will have the ability to assist during in-game challenges in some manner.
