For the first time in a long time, women’s basketball at Colorado is back in the spotlight with the 2022-23 Buffaloes reaching the program’s first Sweet 16 since 2003.
While losing to Iowa on Friday wasn’t the desired result, there’s some legitimate momentum around what head coach JR Payne is building in Boulder. Fans, alumni and media took notice of the Buffs’ success this season, and it was great to see the buzz around CU’s NCAA Tournament run.
And if Payne can keep her key pieces for another season, we could be watching the Buffs make some March Madness noise again next year.
