Buddy Hield credits Kyle Lowry for helping Sixers get back on track

Buddy Hield gives credit to Kyle Lowry for guiding the Philadelphia 76ers to get back on track.

NEW YORK — The Philadelphia 76ers have won two games in a row following a slump. After two consecutive games in which they scored fewer than 100 points, the Sixers have scored at least 120 in their previous two games.

That has coincided with Kyle Lowry being inserted into the starting lineup by coach Nick Nurse. Lowry has totaled 23 points and 17 assists across the two games and has done a great job of organizing the offense, something the Sixers needed.

“He’s been a really good floor general to help us out and bring stability to the offense,” Buddy Hield told Sixers Wire. “He gets everybody in their spots. Running the show and slowing stuff down. Things can get crazy out there so he’s a vet that settles everyone down and gets us in our spots to be successful.”

The presence of Lowry has helped Hield continue his transition to the Sixers after being acquired at the deadline. Lowry is not only a future Hall of Famer but also someone who knows how Nurse runs things thanks to their time together in Toronto.

“Yeah, for sure,” Hield said of Lowry helping him. “It shows in our wins, too that he’s been really good and how he’s played through the good and the bad so it’s been good having him out there.”

Lowry has been a positive influence on Hield and the Sixers thus far and his familiarity with Nurse has helped the transition for just about everybody involved.

“Of course,” Hield finished. “The reason why he’s here is because — especially with Joel (Embiid) out — Nick brings in a guy that he trusts and help push the guys. … I think it’s worked out perfectly.”
