Bucs re-sign QB Baker Mayfield to 3-year contract extension

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have re-signed quarterback Baker Mayfield to a new three-year deal

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have re-signed quarterback Baker Mayfield, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

It’s a three-year deal for Mayfield with a max value of up to $115 million, along with $50 million in guaranteed money, according to Rapoport.

Mayfield signed a cheap one-year deal with the Bucs in free agency last season, and delivered the best season of his career so far, making the Pro Bowl and helping to lead Tampa Bay to their third straight NFC South title.

Now, he returns on a new three-year deal with a well-deserved raise, and the Bucs get to keep a good thing going while building on last year’s success with the former No. 1 pick.

After re-signing wide receiver Mike Evans, and keeping safety Antoine Winfield Jr. with the franchise tag, the Bucs have now locked in three of their most important free agents for the 2024 season.
