Bryce Young nominated for FedEx Air Player of the Week

For the first time in his career, Panthers QB Bryce Young has been nominated for FedEx Air Player of the Week.

After 15 weeks of a rough rookie season, Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young finally delivered a box-score beauty. And now, you can deliver for him.

As announced on Tuesday morning, Young has been nominated for the Christmas weekend’s edition FedEx Air Player of the Week. The nomination is the first of the 22-year-old’s NFL career.

Young earned consideration following his most productive performance of the campaign. The No. 1 overall pick completed 23 of his 36 passing attempts for a career-high 312 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. His 8.7 yards per attempt and 110.0 passer rating from Week 16 also stand as new bests.

The youngster shares the chance at this week’s honor with a pair of veterans in 38-year-old Joe Flacco and 35-year-old Matthew Stafford. Flacco connected 27 of his 42 throws for 368 yards and three touchdowns while Stafford hit on 24 of his 34 tries for 328 yards and a pair of scores.

In a related note, on the flip side of the ballot sits Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones—who has been nominated for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week. Jones paced the Packers to their 33-30 win over the Panthers with a season-high 127 yards on 21 carries.
