Browns S Ronnie Hickman Jr. exits Packers game with back injury

Cleveland Browns safety Ronnie Hickman Jr. exited the preseason game against the Green Bay Packers with a back injury.

Cleveland Browns safety Ronnie Hickman Jr. exited the game against the Green Bay Packers in the first quarter with a hamstring injury.

The second-year safety suffered the injury while covering Packers’ receiver Dontayvion Wicks. Wicks burned Hickman on a slot fade route for a 65-yard touchdown. Hickman was grabbing at his hamstring while failing to track down Wicks. Hickman immediately met with trainers on the sideline before entering the blue medical tent.

Hickman is a former undrafted free agent who was a surprising addition to the team last season. Hickman is trying to make the team for the second straight year. He has the inside track to the roster spot in an incredibly talented safety room. Hickman started the game against the Packers which shows the coaches have great faith in him.

Hickman is questionable to return with a back injury. The Browns are battling against the Packers to start the preseason. Hopefully, the talented young safety can help the Browns later in the game.
