Browns reserve/COVID-19 list adds LBs Mack Wilson and Tony Fields

Two more defenders are reportedly on the reserve/COVID-19 list, both linebackers. With no LBs on the practice squad, the group is incredibly thin:

The Cleveland Browns continue to get hit with positive COVID-19 test results leading to players being placed on the reserve list. Friday’s results led to the placement of linebackers Mack Wilson and Tony Fields II. While neither player has played significant snaps this season they were likely important in Week 15’s defense.

Both Wilson and Fields were also likely to have important roles on special teams as well.

With Anthony Walker still on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team’s linebacker group is severely limited. Malcolm Smith is expected to step in for Walker as the starter next to Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.

The team does not have any linebackers currently on their practice squad which would only leave Sione Takitaki and Elijah Lee as backups at the position.

With the team lacking in players at multiple positions, depth across the board will be a problem. We await word if any players will be able to come off the reserve list this afternoon in time for Saturday’s game.
