While the Indianapolis Colts are preparing for a major offseason, one of their top executives in Ed Dodds has been requested for an interview with the Cleveland Browns, who are looking for a new general manager.
Quietly becoming one of the top general manager candidates over the last few seasons, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the Browns might want to hire Dodds.
They’ve submitted a request to interview Dodds for their vacant general manager role, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Currently the assistant general manager to Chris Ballard, Dodds has played a big role in developing the talent of the roster. He joined the front office staff when Ballard first took over the job during the 2017 offseason.
While Ballard has had plenty of say in the acquisitions and talent evaluation that goes into the draft every year, Dodds is a big part of the front office and one that probably doesn’t get enough credit for his work.
The Colts haven’t had any of their assistant coaches get requested for head coach roles this offseason, but it appears Dodds is getting a chance to interview for the Browns.
