Browns release LB Dakota Allen, Deion Jones return imminent

With the return of Deion Jones looking likely, the Cleveland Browns have released linebacker Dakota Allen.

After signing him to the active roster at the end of last week, the Cleveland Browns have released linebacker Dakota Allen from the active roster. This move likely signals the imminent activation of the newest member Deion Jones from Injured Reserve in the coming days.

Allen has been elevated from the practice squad, then signed to the active roster this season, so there is reason to believe he will land back on the Cleveland practice squad should he clear waivers after this move.

Jones just had the last year of his contract terminated after the two sides agreed to restructure his contract. He will have an 11-game tryout both for the Browns and 31 other teams to prove he still has the same juice in his body he had three years ago.
