The rehabilitation of Nick Chubb is underway after the Cleveland Browns running back had his second knee surgery Tuesday, the team announced in a statement.
Chubb previously had surgery in September to repair his left meniscus and MCL. This surgery, though, was to repair his ACL. Dr. James Voos, the Browns’ head physician, called the surgery a success and confirmed Chubb would recover in time to play at some point next season.

Chubb suffered a gruesome knee injury in Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and was placed on season-ending injured reserve soon after the game. He had rushed 28 times for 170 yards before the injury.
Backup Jerome Ford has filled in well for Chubb, as has the re-signed Kareem Hunt. The Browns are tied for third in the NFL in rushing yards with season with 1,331 and have rushed for more than 100 yards per game in five of the teams’ past seven games.
