Browns QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson out for Week 13, Joe Flacco to start

Joe Flacco will be the Cleveland Browns fourth starting quarterback this season.

The Cleveland Browns will officially have their fourth different starting quarterback this season.

The team ruled out Dorian Thompson-Robinson for Week 13 with a concussion, meaning veteran Joe Flacco will start Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said as much earlier this week, but that was before Thompson-Robinson failed to clear the concussion protocol.

This is the third time since 1950 the Browns will have started at least four quarterbacks in one season, per ESPN. The two other times were in 2008 with Brady Quinn, Bruce Gradkowski, Derek Anderson and Ken Dorsey and in 1988 with Bernie Kosar, Don Strock, Gary Danielson and Mike Pagel.

Flacco, 38, started four games for the New York Jets in 2022 and completed 57.6 percent of his passes for 1,051 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions. His career completion percentage over 183 total games is 61.6 percent.

The 16-year veteran will reunite with fellow former Jets player Elijah Moore and has already heard the praises of wide out Amari Cooper. Now, he’ll be tasked with leading the Browns in a crucial match with playoff implications – both for Cleveland and Los Angeles.
