Browns LB Anthony Walker Jr. leaves with arm injury vs. Ravens

Anthony Walker Jr. leaves the Browns-Ravens game with an arm injury

Cleveland Browns starting linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. left the game against the Ravens with an apparent arm injury. The veteran linebacker has been flying all over the field against the Ravens, recording four tackles so far. He joins starting center Ethan Pocic as the other starter to leave during this game.

The Browns will need the linebacker to return to the game. The Ravens have been punishing the Browns all day throughout the ground. The Ravens have over 100 rushing yards through the half. Lamar Jackson has three touchdowns in the first half, two through the ground and one through the air.

If the Browns are to further contain the Ravens’ offense the team will need to prevent big plays from runningbacks and tight ends. That requires strong linebacker play from the team. If Walker Jr. is unable to return to the game, then Tony Fields II will be his replacement in base defense, with Sione Takitaki stepping in for sub-packages.

The Browns have had an injury-ridden game against the Ravens. The team lost the starting quarterback Deshaun Watson after a warmup session during the pregame. The team also lost starting center Ethan Pocic during the second quarter. The Browns have a bye-week following today’s game. That will allow the Browns to regroup and get healthy.
